Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer I to join our team in Fairfield, CA! Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing our manufacturing processes to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. What You Will Do

  • Employ advanced techniques such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen events, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to drive meaningful process enhancements and cost savings.
  • Conduct capacity analysis and identify improvement initiatives to increase efficiency (OEE).
  • Gather and analyze historical data, forecast future demand, assess available resources, balance capacity and demand, and identify constraints.
  • Participate in Gemba walks, continuous improvement initiatives, and Kaizen events.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization and provide training to cross-functional teams on lean principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, product engineering, program management, and Operations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • • Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to government contractual requirements for accessing information.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Problem-Solving Methodologies.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • APICS CPIM Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with iChart tools for forecasting.
