Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Industrial Engineer.  This position will be located in Roy, UT.

We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support the Ogden Manufacturing Facility (OMF) by turning data and stakeholder needs into practical improvements to layouts, processes, and systems. This role will own projects in layout design, 5S and visual management, and workflow/automation to reduce cycle time, increase capacity, and enhance overall operational performance.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals (Production Intervals, Cycle Time, Takt Time, Standard Hour Content, Time Studies, EVMS, Continuous Improvement, Scheduling, Capacity Analysis, Facility Layouts)

• Responsible for tracking hardware deliveries and maintaining detailed schedules and metrics to report status to upper leadership

• Develop and maintain SQDEC (Schedule, Quality, Delivery, Employee, Cost) Boards with various metrics on a daily basis.

• Understand principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.)

• Knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain

• Understand labor standard development and work measurement. Create standard hour content for new scope.

• Perform shop floor time studies on manufacturing and test activities.

• Work with functional team to understand scheduling requirements at implementation sites

• Ability to create detailed manufacturing waterfall schedules with setbacks to independent demands

• Utilize process improvement methodology (e.g., value stream mapping, employee engagement techniques, flow reduction, etc.)

• Design and optimize Shop Floor/Facility Layouts

• Understand principals of cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)

• Engage and collaborate with various product teams and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements

• Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution

• Utilize your strong organizational, planning and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds

• Ability to coordinate with larger teams at different site locations

• Create and present technical briefings for upper management and technical leadership

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications

• Education Requirement: 2 Years with BS; 0 Years with Masters.
• Preferred Degrees: Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Systems Engineering, or related technical field

• Must be U.S. Citizen with active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Interim) security clearance.
• Experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing operations, production planning, or proposal estimating in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing.
• Experience developing bases of estimate, labor estimates, staffing plans, capacity models, or proposal inputs.
