Industrial Design Intern Summer 2023

Join our Hardware team as we continue to revolutionize the micro-mobility space. We are accepting applications for an Industrial Design Internship during the 2023 Summer semester.  We are looking for an aspiring Industrial Designer that is excited about shared micromobility, small electric vehicle design, and helping to create positive change towards more sustainable urban mobility. As an Intern at Lime you will have the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced development team, where good ideas are celebrated and ego is left at the door.  You will thrive if you possess strong attention to detail, and have a passion for visualization and prototyping and enjoy being hands-on. 
During the internship you will contribute to all creative phases of our high-level ongoing vehicle projects.  Additionally, you will create beautiful keyshot renderings, create tech packs and CMF specifications, and have the freedom and tools to explore ideas that you believe will help create a better rider experience.

What you'll Do:

• Support the development of industry leading hardware solutions within an experienced team of industrial designers and engineers
• Create photo-realistic renderings using keyshot 
• Brainstorm solutions around transportation problems identified by our riders
• Develop CAD models of our most promising designs 
• Create mock-ups, 3D prints, and build prototypes to test and validate ideas 

University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:  
• University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program within Industrial Design with an expected graduation date between 2024 and 2025.
• Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting in May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruitment process 

About You:

Required skills:
• Fluency working within Solidworks for CAD modeling
• Familiarity with keyshot rendering and animation
• Great sketching and visualization skills
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop and Illustrator required 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; English speaking required 
• Proven time management skills with the ability to self-direct, set priorities and keep yourself organized

Preferred skills:
• Interest and/or experience in transportation and/or small vehicle design 
• Woodworking and/or machine shop experience 

The anticipated salary range for this position is $4,667.00 - $5,833.00 per month. Benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications as well as the candidate's location of residence.
