Note: This is a hybrid position, requiring in office work 3 days per week. This position can be located in Little Rock, AR, Baton Rouge, LA, Jackson, MS, or New Orleans, LA. The selected candidate will be placed as an incident response specialist through senior based on education and experience, as well as demonstrated success at the incident response level. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this posting. 

 

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

This role provides governance and execution support of Entergy's system-wide logistics programs supporting the staging and lodging operations. The role will work with Entergy’s Staging and Lodging Branch Directors, executive leaders and functional business partners to effectively maintain and further develop an overall companywide staging and/or lodging preparedness program, coordinating requirements from Operating Company State Resource and Operating Chiefs, inclusive of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive companywide preparedness program to support emergency readiness and large-scale incident response.

The Logistics Support Specialist supports the Lodging and Staging Branch Directors by reviewing and providing recommendations to system program policies, procedures and processes; maintaining readiness metrics, system policies, system checklists, program documentation such as managing staging site land use agreements; contract development and management of turnkey logistics vendors and turn-key hotel providers. The Logistics Support Specialists will participate in monthly planning and coordination calls with State Staging and Lodging Division Managers; ensure all processes are reviewed and updated annually; provide input and deliver training to company assigned lodging and staging employees across all operating companies. During system incidents, the role transitions to an operational capacity and will support the System Staging and Lodging Branch Directors within the System Incident Command System framework, requiring potential travel with minimal notice and extended deployment periods providing a logistics response to service up to 10,000 to 15,000 resources. Responsibilities may include the activation of general staff positions such as staging or lodging managers and leaders; issuing vendor and contractor notices to proceed/standby/conclude for logistics operations, fuel, bussing, deployment of personal protective equipment, engaging with hotel provider for availability, assignment of rooms, input of logistical information into Storm Manager, monitoring deployment costs and documentation of execution decisions, response demobilization and after event invoice review and reconciliation. The role also supports the Incident Response Department through documentation management, data analysis, presentations, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance staging and lodging incident response capabilities and ensure organizational readiness for system-wide response.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Prepare for assigned incident response role in the System Incident Command System framework and respond to incidents to perform the role during incidents, potentially with travel, with minimal notice, and for extended periods.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in areas of responsibility.
  • Support the coordination and classroom training of applicable internal and external parties in incident response programs, processes, etc. to prepare organizations and individuals to safely, accurately, timely and completely perform roles required for effective, efficient, and coordinated incident response.
  • Develop and/or maintain applicable documentation of programs, processes, checklists, training materials and records, applicable incident response records etc., assigned project status, etc. to effectively manage and report responsible work.

Provide support to the Incident Response organization. Collaborates with and supports various business units in their incident response
