About the role
General Summary
Under general supervision and reporting Quality Management in Quality Operations, The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing visual inspection operations including In-process, Final Inspection, and FAI’s as appropriate. The Quality Inspector must be familiar with hand tools and inspection under magnification. The Quality Inspector will also assist in verification of test data and all other applicable data concerning components, and associated documentation and other duties identified by cognizant management.

Essential Job Functions
- Performs final inspection and receiving inspection (Which includes dimensional, visual inspection, surface finish, and assembly inspection)
- Reads, interprets, and utilizes Quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and other documentation • Processes warehouse materials
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines/procedures to perform the functions of the job
- Support positive corrective actions and identification of root cause
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
- CMM Inspection process
- Knowledge and experience in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Knowledge and experience with blueprint interpretation
- Experienced quality individual in dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components • Experience in performing FAI’s – AS9102
- Experience with hand measurement tools • MS Outlook, and EXCEL experience
- Experience with hand measurement gages, conduct conventional inspection to Quality Inspector - Mechanical JD, Page 2 of 4, rev 11/9/23 engineering requirements
- Strong verbal, written and communication skills
- Fluent English – reading and writing is required
- Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong independent decision-making skills; excellent analytical skills and professional judgment
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated

- Ability to remain seated for up to 5 hours at a time

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Pass pre-hire criminal and MVR background check

- HS Diploma; college/tech school preferred
- 3+ years’ experience as a quality inspector or technician.
- 3+ years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility
- 3+ years’ experience in inspection duties, FAI’s GD&T, and b/p interpretation
- Preferred: Prior practical experience and implementation of Quality inspection tools and equipment. Experience in RCCA, and problem solving
- Any combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility
- The General Vision Acuity Test shall be performed by an Oculist, Optometrist, or other professionally recognized person. The following requirements shall apply. Quality Inspector - Mechanical JD, Page 3 of 4, rev 11/9/23
- o Near Vision – Eyes meets Orthorater 8 (95% or Jaeger #2 at 12 inches)
- o Far vision – Eyes meets Orthorater 4 (76%) or Snellen Chart 20/50
- o Color Perception – 6 of 9 Orthorater plates US or International citizenship or permanent residence status required depending on work location.
- Valid Driver’s License

- US citizenship or permanent residence status
- Fluent English – reading and writing is required
- Pass pre-hire background check including DMV and criminal review
- Pass Pre-hire Drug Screening
