JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse - Imaging
SHIFT: FTE 0.5, Part-Time, Day Shift

Summary/Objective
Provides nursing care for assigned group of patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
Essential Functions
- Starts IVs and collects blood samples for lab work.
- Accesses PICC lines and P01is.
- Check lab results for GFR pre-contrast as indicated.
- Administer IV hydration pre and post contrast exams as ordered.
- Administer Albumin post paracentesis as ordered.
- Monitor patients post thoracentesis
- Perform urinary bladder catheterization as needed
- Maintain emergency drug boxes
- Perform and train others in check off procedure for emergency crash cart.
- Call patients to give instructions and exam preparation education.
- Follow up with patients post care (extravasations, contrast reactions, etc.).
- Demonstrates use of the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in providing patient care and prioritizing delivery of care.
- Demonstrates proficiency of Pyxis and electronic health record system.
- Charts on appropriate forms in clear, concise manner, using correct spelling, accepted medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Administers medication and treatments proficiently.
- Verify patient charges are accurate.
- Documentation complete and accurate; order matches documentation.
- Demonstrates support of colleagues and administration.
- Follow Standard Precaution guidelines.
- Effectively communicates with physicians and staff.
- Delegates tasks to be performed to appropriate personnel.
- Attends at least one continuing education offerings per year.
Qualifications
Experience
- Prior hospital nursing role preferred but not required
Skills/Competencies
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to prepare and maintain various documentation/reports in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills promoting teamwork and group achievement as well as one on one communication with patients
Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licenses
- Current RN license in the State of Indiana.
- ACLS certification and successful completion of basic arrhythmia class within 1 year from date of hire.
Certifications
- CPR certification within 6 months from date of hire.
