Job Description

The Identity Platform Product Owner is a global role that is responsible for the product roadmap and strategic direction of the identity management suite of products.  You will work with business stakeholders, development and operations technical teams and clients to understand application usage, gather requirements, and represent the product by communicating strategy and roadmap. 

You are effective and have proven experience as the liaison between the business and technical teams.  This means collaborating across product teams, predicting future scenarios and needs ahead of others, and most importantly an expert in the needs of our customers and how your products work. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Set ambitious and clear product vision, evangelize, and communicate 'the story' effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team 
  • Define the product platform strategy and roadmap while managing stakeholders across the organization including the business, engineering, and operations 
  • Ensure alignment of product features and stories.  Effectively prioritize user stories with development teams in support of roadmap balancing new features and optimization 
  • Continuously improve backlog with the team, ensuring all items are clearly described, estimated, and prioritized 
  • Ensure user-driven design considering user pain points, leverage incident metrics, determine trends and industry knowledge to deliver a well-positioned product 
  • Collaborate with cross functional team members to prioritize projects to align with business goals 
  • Leverage Agile principles and methodologies, including owning the team backlogs, defining and prioritizing epics, features, user stories and other artifacts to support development goals 
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identifying potential issues and devising contingency plans. React to change with flexibility. 
  • Analyze complex business and system requirements, construct workflow charts and diagrams 
  • Serve as a communication hub and facilitate collaboration across teams and departments related to the platform 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience Identity Management experience in the following areas: 
  • Single Sign-On (Okta experience required), Identity Federation, Consumer Identity, and Multi-Factor Authentication 
  • Identity Governance and Administration, User Provisioning, Access Certification, Identity Analytics, Role-Based Access Control 
  • Privileged Access Management 
  • 7+ years of product management experience 
  • Confident in managing backlogs; writing detailed user stories, refining stories with experts, and having a typical 'servant leader' mindset when with the team 
  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders; strong leadership skills 
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, take initiative and prioritize multiple work items. 
  • Ability to embrace change and be flexible  
  • Good technical understanding and experience in agile delivery/development methodologies 
  • Experience working with API integration and strong technical understanding of cloud-based platform architecture 
  • Validated ability to adapt to new technologies and tools as well as changing needs 
  • Bachelor's / advanced degree
