Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for coordinating and providing operational and procedural support to the Division of Children’s Medical Services, Bureau of Early Steps and Newborn Screening, Newborn Hearing Screening Program, and reports to the General and Operations Manager I, Data Informatics Unit Supervisor. The incumbent in this position must be able to work independently, must have the ability to organize and prioritize workload, engage in collaborative problem-solving, must be capable of ensuring continuity of work in the absence of supervision, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative in the performance of these duties.
- Provide support for the monthly hearing screening reporting process led by the Screening Resource Coordinator for hospitals, birthing centers, and primary care physicians. Complete the linking process in collaboration with the Health Data Analyst within established timeframes. Review hospital responses to the monthly reports and complete necessary corrections within established timeframes.
- Enter and monitor hearing and CMV screening information and complete actions, including printing/sending of letters, monitoring logs in Excel and daily case closures within the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) data system. Provide guidance to program staff on complex cases during routine reviews.
- Serve as the Early Hearing Detection & Intervention Advisory Committee Coordinator. Assist the leader with the management and coordination of committee meetings, document council activities, provide information to the council members, publish announcements, create agendas and notes, prepare travel documentation, edit, and prepare presentation materials for routing, and collaborate with the web team to maintain current information on the Department’s website. Meet coordinator deliverables and due dates using a detailed workplan.
- Provide support for the electronic screening and diagnostic reporting system, eReports. Establish new user accounts and password resets, as necessary. Provide technical assistance, orientation, and support for eReports users. Reach out via email and phone to screening providers, audiologists, and primary care physicians to encourage electronic reporting of results.
- Participate in planning and implementation of continuous quality improvement program activities.
- Participate in various workgroups, meetings and conferences related to newborn hearing issues or as assigned, which may require travel.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Serve as backup for other Newborn Hearing Screening Program staff.
- Other job-related requirements for this position: Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent may include but is not limited to: working in special needs or Red Cross shelters or performing other emergency duties, including responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. Incumbent will have access to records containing social security numbers in the performance of job duties. Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and Background/Fingerprint Check.
