Description of Work
This home-based position is responsible for developing meaningful job skill training and employment opportunities for individuals incarcerated within NCDAC, with a primary focus on work release. The role includes employer recruitment and matching, regional program oversight, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and supervision of three staff members performing similar functions across different geographic areas. The position also contributes to program evaluation, provides staff training, and requires regular regional travel with occasional overnight trips. This role reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.Job Duties
• Develop and coordinate job skill training and work release employment opportunities for incarcerated individuals.
• Identify, evaluate, recruit, and match employers with suitable NCDAC facilities.
• Coordinate transportation arrangements needed to support work release placements.
• Collaborate with facility, regional, and division staff to strengthen pathways between education, programming, job skills, apprenticeships, and employment.
• Conduct regional engagement, including regular travel, facility contact, employer outreach, and work release matching processes.
• Participate in program evaluation efforts and provide guidance on opportunities for improvement.
• Provide training and technical assistance to NCDAC staff on work release procedures and best practices.
• Supervise three regional staff, including schedules, task assignments, performance support, and improvement planning.

Salary 63,927.00 - 111,871.00
Salary Grade NC18

Considerable knowledge of the development and function of correctional job skill training and employment programs.
Ability to review and evaluate potential employment programs for appropriateness and benefit in a correctional setting.
Ability to review the effectiveness of existing employment programs and provide guidance to support necessary growth and improvement.
Considerable knowledge of correctional work release programs and associated processes.
