Job Description

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a new challenge, ready to leverage your comprehensive skill set in a key role within a growing business?                                                                                                                            

As the Human Resources Manager, you will collaborate with leaders, employees, and stakeholders to drive performance and create a positive work culture. This is a highly visible role providing day-to-day HR leadership for our Carol Stream, IL facility and satellite facilities in support of approximately 50 employees.

In this role you will be responsible for many traditional HR functional areas such as talent acquisition and employee relations, as well as more proactive activities that involve partnering with different areas of the business to address employee engagement, talent and organizational development, managing change, and policy development and implementation.

What you will do and Impact:

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Drive talent acquisition and onboarding processes.
  • Collaboration with hiring managers, develop recruitment strategies for open positions and manage internal and external postings and other search techniques to source diverse and qualified applicants.
  • Interview and recommend candidates for hire.
  • Coordinate the job offer and pre-employment processes.
  • Maintain recordkeeping requirements for the Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Conduct onboarding activities for new employees where necessary.

Employee Relations and Development

  • Coach and counsel managers and employees on a wide variety of work-related activities, policies, and procedures such as employee relations, talent planning and management, career development, process improvement, performance management, compensation and benefits, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and recruiting.
  • Partner with managers to proactively identify issues and provide tailored solutions to meet business goals.
  • Facilitate mandatory and developmental training, including Harassment-Free Workplace, Performance Management, Conflict Resolution, etc.
  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all employees, respecting and valuing individual differences and perspectives.
  • Assess departmental employee engagement levels and assist in the development of action plans to ensure a positive, engaging, and supportive workplace.
  • Assist with the administration and communication of performance management and rewards programs.

HR Policy and Administration

  • Work closely with ITW and the HR team to ensure consistency in the interpretation, communication, application, and administration of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that comply with federal and state laws and are consistent with ITW’s values and business goals.
  • Utilize technology to streamline process improvements and delivery of HR services.
  • Function as project manager coordinating special Human Resource initiatives as needed, such as Open Enrollment, United Way, Wellness initiatives, etc.
  • Support managers and employees with payroll-related questions and acts as the payroll liaison for the division, maintaining HRIS records, and supporting FMLA/Leave of Absence.
  • Additional duties and tasks as assigned.

  • Exhibit outstanding communication skills, navigating both spoken and written forms.
  • Understand and execute administering FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, and other leave of absence or accommodation requests.
