Purpose:

Provides Human Resources support to the General Manager Distribution Operations and Operations Team by encompassing the day to day operations relating to HR functions.  Also provides support to the Safety & LP Supervisor with creating a safe working environment for the Distribution Center. This position aids in setting the vision, direction, and culture of the Distribution Center.  This position reports to the Senior Director Human Resources.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

·Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a related field and 2-4 years of experience in a human resources role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.  Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.

  • Must be a self-starter and proactive when presented with HR-related issues
  • Must be able to scale with the growth of the business, understand business goals and recommend new approaches and procedures to positively impact business objectives
  • Drive and manage all employee engagement related activities and efforts for Distribution Center leaders and associates
  • Continuously innovate HR processes to ensure improvement to provide excellent service to associates
  • Assist with projects at the Distribution Center including influencing and obtaining buy-in from associates and leaders to ensure project success
  • Assist DC leadership team with staff development (training, coaching, mentoring, guiding, recognition)
  • Ability to understand workforce and financial data to drive company objectives
  • Must be able to effectively manage salaried and hourly team members
  • Must have knowledge of state/federal employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, administrative, organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills- Intermediate to advance skills in Word or Excel
  • Experience with payroll processing systems and products (e.g. Kronos, Workday, etc.)
  • Requires rapid and thorough independent decision making and creative problem-solving skills, good judgment as well as the ability to accept personal accountability for areas of responsibility
  • Strong analytical ability to gather, interpret, and disseminate information, as well as develop, record, and implement solutions
  • Knowledge or hands on experience with internal human resources, payroll, benefits, recruiting and safety processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities

  • Lead the HR function at the Distribution Center
  • Advise and influence other leaders on people related matters
  • Lead key HR objectives and drive continuous improvement
  • Advise and influence senior leaders on leadership development, engagement, strategic staffing planning, succession planning, training, performance management, and compliance
  • Lead initiatives and influence leaders to create a positive work environment that will maintain a union free work environment
  • Lead the leadership team to ensure prompt and accurate administration of payroll, benefits, attendance tracking, performance management, and records maintenance
  • Provide guidance and influence to ensure that DC leaders administer policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
  • Ensure that facility remains current and adheres to company policies, and local, state, and federal employment laws
  • Lead onboarding and training in the facility; influence leaders and Associates to build engaged teams
  • Lead and influence a development culture, create development routines in the DC, personally develop leaders
