About the role

SUMMARY
Our Human Resources Department is looking to fill a Human Resources Internship for the 2026 summer season. Human Resources or related majors are encouraged to apply. Intern provides the Human Resources office clerical assistance, assists in the onboarding process, and coordination of new hires. Assists in a wide range of human resource duties within a procedural framework.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Greets and assists applicants in a quick and pleasant manner, answers telephone, conveys messages, distributes mail, photocopies and faxes documents, maintains office with proper supplies
• Assist HR Administrative Assistant in the set up of new employee profiles and the scheduling of new hire orientation.
• Assist with the daily operations of the office staff, ensuring smooth operations of the department
• Work cooperatively with other department heads to track and collect training plans and performance reviews.
• Processes employment applications and assists in other employment activities
• Answers routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, benefits claims processing, and job openings in line with written company policy on these matters
• Assist other Human Resources personnel with various duties
• Create records and forms
• Maintains employee files. Sorts and files documents.
• Assists with collecting and processing forms for the reciprocal hotel agreement programs and employee room requests
• Compiles and inputs personnel data in HR data system and assists with preparing reports
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Relevant experience or experience with customer service
• MUST BE currently enrolled at a University, College, or Community College and receive college credit for the Internship
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Publisher. Knowledge of HR data systems preferable.
ADDITIONAL INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete internship projects
• Work a flexible schedule, 30-40+ hours per week
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to articulate in both written and verbal communication. Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Must have ability to meet deadlines, handle difficult conversations with poise and confidence, and fulfill unexpected demands. Must have the mental aptitude to handle high call volumes while multi-tasking.

WORKING CONDITIONS
A normal office environment exists with a moderate noise level. Periods of high traffic will occur. Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.


Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
