About the role

We’re looking for a highly capable HR Generalist who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. This role works directly alongside the Assistant HR Manager and touches every area of HR—payroll, recruiting, timekeeping, benefits, onboarding, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll & Timekeeping

    • Handle payroll processing for hourly associates, including calculations, deductions, and corrections

    • Manage timekeeping issues using Attendance Enterprise; troubleshoot punches, resolve discrepancies, and support supervisors

    • Maintain payroll records, wage changes, and related documentation

  • HRIS & Benefits

    • Enter, track, and update employee data in Workday, Odyssey, and Employee Navigator

    • Administer benefits and 401(k) plans, acting as point of contact for vendors and employees

    • Process and track workers’ compensation claims

  • Recruitment & Onboarding

    • Coordinate full-cycle hourly recruiting: sourcing, interviewing, job offers, background checks

    • Facilitate onboarding and orientation, including I-9s, system entries, and monitoring staffing needs

    • Support internal job bids and promotion tracking

  • Employee Relations & Compliance

    • Ensure documentation and practices align with labor laws and internal policies

    • Maintain confidential files and audit readiness

  • Vendor & Program Management

    • Oversee contracts and inventory for uniforms, staffing agencies, and supplies

    • Coordinate employee recognition programs and morale efforts

    • Events Planning

  • Reporting & Projects

    • Create and maintain Excel reports using advanced functions.

    • Assist with audits, headcount reporting, and special HR initiatives

What You Bring:

  • Solid experience with payroll and timekeeping systems

  • Hands-on HRIS experience, ideally with exposure to Workday

  • Confidence navigating Excel—this is a must (you’ll be tested)

  • Experience in recruiting and onboarding

  • A high level of initiative and the ability to manage competing tasks independently

  • Strong judgment, resourcefulness, and attention to detail

  • HR experience in a manufacturing or fast-paced environment is strongly preferred

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience in an HR role with relevant exposure to payroll, recruiting, or HR systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)

  • Familiarity with Workday, Employee Navigator, or similar platforms

  • College degree or HR certification a plus
