The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Director with the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department. The individual will be responsible for administering essential functions of the HR department including employee benefits, diversity and inclusion initiative, HR metrics reporting, training and development, enforcing company policies, and event planning. The HRG will recommend best practices and new technologies for process improvement. The HRG will be a main point of contact for employee questions on HR related topics.
- Supports HR Director in educating employees on and enforcing company policies
- Gather and analyze applicable data to create various reports utilizing HR metrics; recommends improvements
- Produce regular reports and other on-demand reports as needed
- Assist with administering the firms diversity, equity and inclusion initiative
- Create YoY metrics regarding DEI efforts
- Able to interpret policies and procedures and to effectively disseminate information to all employees
- Administers and oversees benefit plans for employees
- Processes required documents for benefit changes through payroll and benefit providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions
- Manages the full-cycle annual open enrollment process
- Assist with development of human resources policies and procedures
- Efficiently responds to various employee questions and/or requests within a day to enhance job satisfaction by resolving/attending to issues promptly
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with mandatory annual training for all new and current employees
- Coordinates the annual employee performance review process by providing reminders and ensuring completion within designated time frame
- Recommend new benefits, perks, employee recognition programs, etc. to increase employee morale/satisfaction
- Monitors and keeps up-to-date on the latest HR trends, best practices, and new technologies in HR
- Researches and recommends HR programs to create efficient, employee morale, conflict-free workplace
- Acts as the main point of contact for employee questions on HR related topics
- Assist with organizing firm activities including monthly birthday/holiday celebration luncheons, holiday parties, team building activities, etc.
- Maintains employee confidential files
- Performs clerical duties (faxing, scanning, filing, copying, emailing, etc.) as needed
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources; Master's degree a big plus
- Three (3) or more years of HR experience; Financial Services industry experience preferred
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate information to all levels of the firm
- Professional demeanor, polished presentation, and poised with a can-do attitude, willing to pro-actively go above and beyond specific direction/responsibilities
- Consistently demonstrate a sense of urgency
- Confident and assertive personality with the ability to be direct in a professional manner
- Possess strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to meet simultaneous, multiple deadlines
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Must be resourceful and able to quickly research information
- Understands the need to maintain confidentiality
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Able to work non-traditional business work hours as needed and attend business related events in the evenings or weekends
- Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are not required, but highly preferred
