Description

Job Summary:

Performs various human resources administrative activities with emphasis in the areas of recruiting, orientation/onboarding, retention, benefits administration, policies and procedures, reporting.

Essential Job Functions:

    • Responsible for assisting with the recruiting and onboarding processes.
    • Entering employee information into systems.
    • Enter temporary employee information into systems.
    • Submit temporary employee timecards to agencies and reconcile invoices weekly.
    • Assist employees with various questions in person, over the phone and through email, escalating items to the HR Manager when necessary.
    • Track various HR metrics and programs in Excel.
    • Scanning and filing of confidential information.
  • Attend various company meetings as needed.
  • Coordinate meetings for HR as necessary
  • Support other functions as assigned.

Other Functions:

  • Assist office administrative assistant with company event planning.
    • Be an active participant on committees.
    • Attend company functions as a representative of the Human Resources Department.
    • Exercise initiative to learn new skills and tasks and to help co-workers when possible.

 

In addition to the functions listed above, the employee is expected to: strive to exhibit and apply York Container’s Values, exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all customers and co-workers, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, as well as demonstrate a positive attitude.  Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers, work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.  The HR Coordinator is expected to maintain good attendance by working the agreed upon schedule and at times extended hours during team busy seasons.  We expect all employees to work safely in compliance with all safety policies, respect the work environment and keep it as neat and clean as possible.  The employee is also expected to perform other duties and functions as required from time to time.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • High School education/GED required;
  • Prior HR experience in a manufacturing setting is desired.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Experience with Paycom is a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.

 

Machines/Tools/Equipment:

Computer, basic office equipment (copier, printer, calculator, fax, etc.)

 

Safety: 

Employees are expected to follow all facility safety guidelines that include adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety as outlined during their training.

Working Conditions:

Primarily a controlled office environment; Regular exposure to loud manufacturing environment (hearing protection required in many areas of the plant); Occasional travel for seminars, errands, etc.
