Human Resources Business Partner
IU Health is offering an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join the System Health Solutions (SHS) team in Indianapolis, IN. SHS is part of IU Health and brings together many diverse service lines across the state to meet the needs of patients outside of the hospital setting. Additionally, SHS includes corporate functions working in support of IU Health growth and development initiatives. Service line examples include Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Urgent Care, Virtual Care, Corporate Real Estate, and Design and Construction.
This role offers significant variety, broad exposure to unique business areas, and the opportunity to serve as a true strategic partner embedded with the leaders and teams you support. The HRBP will work closely with business partners in both clinical and non‑clinical environments, providing leadership coaching, engagement support, workforce planning, and strategic HR consultation to drive organizational effectiveness and success.

Shift: Full-time, Monday-Friday, hybrid position with Monday and Friday working from home and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in office.

The Scope:
The Human Resources Business Partner supports the business in meeting its goals by assisting in implementing HR strategies with business objectives at the regional and/or functional level within Indiana University Health. Partners with leaders and team members to guide and align on HR matters such as talent management, engagement, workforce planning, leader and team development. Supports the implementation of system‑wide HR initiatives such as annual performance reviews, employee engagement, and succession planning. Works with the HR centers of excellence in talent acquisition, total rewards, talent management, and learning and development, as appropriate when navigating regional/functional challenges and to partner and inform on system‑level HR practices.
In SHS, this role provides high‑touch strategic support to leaders across a wide range of functions from ambulatory clinical operations to real estate and design & construction, requiring strong relationship management, business curiosity, and the ability to adapt HR solutions to complex operational realities.
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for this position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required.
Master's Degree is preferred.
3–5 years of relevant Human Resources experience required.
Requires experience in the execution of HR programs.
Must be able to guide the application of HR‑related regulations and laws (e.g., FLSA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, etc.).
Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
Experience in a highly matrixed and complex work environment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnering: Serve as a trusted HR advisor to SHS leaders, aligning HR strategies with business needs and helping leaders plan for workforce, performance, and talent priorities.
Leader Coaching: Provide high‑touch coaching and development support to leadersincluding new leader onboarding, skill‑building, and guidance on effective team leadership.
Engagement & Retention: Partner closely on employee engagement initiatives, including Gallup survey analysis, action planning, and early turnover prevention strategies.
Workforce Planning: Support leaders in workforce planning, talent discussions, and succession strategies to ensure long‑term business rea
