About the role

The Human Resources Manager oversees and manages the day to day responsibilities and administrative operations of the Alliance Foundation Chicago and Boston Human Resources and general administration. Designs and implements strategic Human Resources programs and policies for Alliance Foundation. Serves as strategic partner throughout organization to enable high performing talent. Collaborates with units and leadership on organizational strategy, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, compensation, benefits and employee and labor relations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction through managers responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring human resource issues.
  • Manages employees by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, assessing annual performance and determining individual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases.
  • Stays abreast of federal, state (Illinois and Massachusetts) and local (Chicago and Boston) employment laws and regulations and advise management in related matters
  • Develops short, and long- term Human Resource plans and operational policies ensuring high performance and accountability throughout organization. Oversees project development and implementation of initiatives, office procedures and policies and ensures compliance. Responsible for program evaluation, tracking, policy implementation and personnel administration.
  • Lead Human Resources Partner for Alliance Foundation. Manage end-to-end hiring process including preparation of job descriptions, postings, oversee interviewing, hiring process, performance management and accruals.
  • Coordinate space/office assignments for employees. Coordinate staff training programs, staff meetings and other staff functions. Maintain all human resources files.
  • Oversees performance reviews and corrective action up to and including termination, and provide ongoing supervision, guidance and training as needed.
  • Serves as Alliance Foundation lead liaison regarding labor relations issues, job postings, job classifications, employee benefits, payroll, leave administration, employee departures, policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with Finance/Budget department in administering HR budget and department expenses

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years relevant and progressively responsible human resources experience required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Health Care, Public Health or Clinical Research experience preferred
