As a HR Generalist you will be responsible for the execution and/or administration of a range of tasks in support of our corporate employee population. The ideal candidate will be responsible for new hire orientation and onboarding, employee off-boarding, company policy and procedure guidance, employee relations issues, employee data management, and employee engagement and communications. This individual will build and foster strong relationships with our company's managers and guide and consult them on a variety of matters within the employment lifecycle.

So, what will you be doing as a HR Generalist?

  • Provide new employee orientation and on-boarding to ensure positive assimilation into Leggett & Platt.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze themes to develop action plans to address attrition. Partners with managers and employees through the off-boarding process.
  • Collaboratively partner with Talent Acquisition team to ensure timely execution of recruitment process. Maintain up to date position descriptions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within our HRIS system ensuring compliance and confidentiality with employment data. Utilize HRIS systems to support streamlined data management processes.
  • Help communicate HR policies, compensation, benefits, and other HR initiatives to employees.
  • Assist with coordinating and supporting HR initiatives and processes.
  • Administer FMLA program and be first point of contact for employees for leave requests.
  • Provide employee relations support to managers and employees for conflict resolution and performance issues. Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with HR Employee Relations for all OFCCP reporting and compliance management within the corporate functions.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area
  • 1-5 years’ experience in Human Resources; preferably in a similar role
  • SHRM CP or PHR certification a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle employee issues in a compliant and sensitive manner.
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations in an engaging manner
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a larger team
  • Team player, willing to collaborate and communicate wit
