Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General:
- Creates and tracks employee disciplinary letters, manages spreadsheets
- Assist the HR department in preparing for the corporate’s annual HR audit.
- Respond to inquiries regarding company policies and procedures, and Union Contract interpretation.
- Provide coaching and counseling to department heads on HR related issues and assist with the preparation of employee disciplinary/correction notices
- Assist with HR projects, training, events, and payroll as required
- Contribute to company newsletters.
- Confer with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures.
- Communicate updates plant wide including but not limited to e-mails, posting, and kiosk screens
- Organize hard and soft copies of employee records; assist with management of recordkeeping/employee files and implementation of electronic filing systems
- Coordinate employee satisfaction surveys and give actionable insights to improve employees’ experience
- Process UC Claims, reconcile Quarterly Statements and manage hearings and appeals.
- Assist HR Team with administrative tasks, generate and assign key fobs, issue boot slips, tool reimbursements, update electronic bulletin board, answer VOE’s, and update communication boards.
- Manage terminated employee records
- Manage Activities Committee and functions
Recruiting and onboarding:
- Manage full cycle recruiting efforts for both Union and Salary positions both external and internal.
- Responsible for sourcing, recruiting, scheduling interviews and plant tours, making employment offers, initiating background checks, scheduling physicals, and coordinating new hire orientations with the Safety department.
- Update and create job descriptions. Manage new hires probationary periods, and notify leadership once completed.
- Develop and maintain recruiting channels to maintain/improve staffing strategies.
- Enter new hires in various systems such as UKG (HRIS), Brivo (Key Fob), and RapidCast (Mass Communication).
- Assist in the coordination of staffing and recruitment processes
Administrative:
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions according to HR objectives
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data
Systems:
- Experience preferred with HRIS System, UKG, UKG Community
- ATS, Smart Recruiters
- Identify and resolve payroll issues as they pertain to timekeeping, manage UTA and assist with implementation of UKG Time Management system, provide support and training for supervisors
- Maintain data integrity of HRIS system.
- Add secondary jobs and ensure accurate tracking in system
Niche specialties – ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following functions and/or strong commitment to pursuing one or more.
- Strong recruitment experience and/or
- Experience in dealing with supervisors/management to provide strategic HR assistance and/or willingness to do so.
- And/or an interest in focusing on training and development
