The University of Mississippi invites you to join our dynamic team as a HRIS Administrator for Project Encompass, an exciting enterprise resource planning (ERP) project that aims to revolutionize our Human Resources and Finance systems by migrating to Workday.

 

The HRIS Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Human Resources Information System, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of employee data. They collaborate with HR and IT teams to streamline HR processes, implement system upgrades, and provide technical support and training to users. Additionally, they analyze data to generate reports and insights that support strategic HR decisions and organizational goals.

Examples of Work Performed

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.
  • Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users.
  • Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports.
  • Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives and HR staff.
  • Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.
  • Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  1. Collaborates with executive leadership and HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
  2. Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HCM platform.
  3. Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, HR Management, Business Admin or related field.

 

AND

 

Experience: Two (2) years of experience related to the above-described duties

 

One year of supervisory experience preferred

Salary/Wage Information

Salary range for this position is from $56,000 to $85,000.
