Job Description: HR Project Assistant (Short-Term)

Job Summary:
Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Project Assistant to provide short-term support to our Human Resources department. This role will assist with a variety of projects, including data entry, filing, compliance audits, and ensuring up-to-date postings across our large, multi-building campus. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Responsibilities:
• Data Entry & Filing:
◦ Accurately organize employee data into HR information systems (HRIS) and electronic folders.
◦ Organize and maintain physical and electronic employee records.
• Compliance Audits:
◦ Assist in conducting audits of HR records to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
◦ Verify the accuracy and completeness of employee documentation.
◦ Help identify and address any compliance gaps.
• Campus Postings:
◦ Ensure all required employee postings (e.g., labor law posters, company notices) are up-to-date and displayed prominently in designated areas across multiple buildings.
◦ Maintain a log of posting locations and dates.
◦ Replace outdated or damaged postings promptly.
• General Administrative Support:
◦ Assist with scheduling meetings and appointments.
◦ Prepare and distribute HR-related documents.
◦ Assist with other HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.


• Previous experience in an administrative or HR support role is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to walk and navigate between multiple buildings on a large campus.


• Ability to lift and carry light loads of paperwork and postings.
