Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Staff HR Investigation Manager, the incumbent serves as the primary coordinator for the campus-wide conflict resolution and workplace violence prevention programs, handling the initial day to day triage, logging & tracking in the campus system of record, and forwarding of concerns to the appropriate campus office for handling, of conflict resolution and workplace violence submissions by CSULB students, faculty and staff/MPPs. This position will provide support to the Staff HR Investigation Manager in the management of staff/MPP conflict resolution and workplace violence concerns, along with relevant learning and development activities related to the campus programs. In addition, the incumbent will serve as the primary coordinator for the campus business process related to approval for official employment references being provided on behalf of CSULB for current or former employee's seeking employment outside of the CSU.
Key Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary coordinator for the campus-wide conflict resolution and workplace violence prevention program.
- Provide support in the management of staff/MPP conflict resolution and workplace violence concerns and learning and development activities related to the campus program
- Serve as the primary coordinator for the campus business process related to approval for official CSULB employment references.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to compose letters and memos in a professional and business-like manner. Ability to complete work with a high level of accuracy while maintaining internal deadlines and schedules. Must be highly organized and able to follow established processes. Ability to interact in a positive, professional manner with staff, faculty, and university visitors. Communicates with the University community in a civil and articulate manner. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
Ability to multi-task effectively and have experience in handling more than one assignment at a time. Proven ability to research and understand learn HR-related university policies and develop a wide variety of procedures relating to office administration standards and policies. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic calendaring. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing office environment. Ability to understand and accomplish overall office goals by pro-actively working as a team member. Knowledge of human resources and CSULB policies and procedures preferred. Ability to learn HR information systems. PeopleSoft experience is preferred.

Education and Experience
• Equivalent to three years of related experience required.
• Experience in collective bargaining environment and in higher education preferred.
Physical Summary
Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,844- $6,704 per month.

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
