HR Manager

William Douglas is seeking the ideal candidate to execute Human Resources responsibilities in functional areas including but not limited to payroll, benefits, employee relations, compliance, onboarding, policy implementation, and administration within the HR Department. The Human Resources Manager supports the Executive team to achieve goals and objectives with continuous focus on providing exceptional service and expertise to our colleagues and staff. This person must have the ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute all aspects of payroll processing for company and multiple clients including but not limited to computing payroll, verifying and balancing payroll, processing employee changes, garnishments and wage adjustments, and maintaining regular payroll reports.
  • Perform benefits administration including but not limited to change reporting, new employee enrollments, terminations, open enrollment, monthly invoice audits, payroll deductions, and employee communications.
  • Maintain current and accurate data in HRIS system. Establish and maintain employee personnel files for both current and former employees.
  • Actively lead and/or participate in company-wide projects and initiatives to increase employee engagement and promote company values and culture.
  • Manage day-to-day employee relations issues including enforcement of policies/procedures, employee engagement, and employee conflict as needed.
  • Maintain staffing data and provide monthly turnover metrics.
  • Facilitate and participate in onboarding process for new hires.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations.
  • Communicate with employees and management to distribute important information regarding company news and policies.
  • Provide support to the Executive team as needed and perform other administrative duties including processing unemployment claims, maintaining the HR intranet site and company directory, and processing terminations.
  • Attend and participate in human resources conferences and seminars; stay abreast of employment law and changes in the field of human resources.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

We do not require experience in our industry.  We are looking for someone with a strength/talent in team leadership, development, and motivation.

  • 3 to 4 years of current HR experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/ or any HR certifications. 
  • Must be up to date and current on Federal and State HR laws.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize work load, assume and manage multiple tasks with or without close supervision, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Excellent computer skills, working with Microsoft Office. Experience working with a HRIS System or other HR/Payroll systems required.
