Greenpac Mill in Niagara Falls, NY is seeking an aspiring HR professional to train and develop in its HR Manager in Training program.  This role will report directly to the Sr. HR Manager of Greenpac Mill, with development projects and trainings in coordination with Cascades Niagara Falls.  You will have the opportunity to experience the full scope of the HR profession and work on key projects to build your knowledge and progression.  The goal of the HR Manager in Training program is to develop the selected candidate into a future HR Manager for Cascades.  Candidates must be willing to travel to other locations during their development. 

The HR Manager in Training will gradually perform a wide variety of human resources administrative and general office duties to become familiar with the role of an HR Manager in Cascades, and to become familiar with the primary unit to which they will report. 

Individual responsibilities

Aiding in recruitment for production and maintenance technicians and some exempt salaried roles. 

University outreach and management of the intern program. 

Coordination of employee recognition programs. 

Coordination of company events. 

Conduct onboarding and new hire orientations. 

Payroll, benefit, and HR data reporting and analysis. 

Processing employee payroll submissions and tracking annual allowances. 

Special projects and employee relations initiatives as assigned. 

Experiences and strengths

Bachelors Degree is required (Human Resources or related degree) 

Some HR experience is preferred, but not required 

Demonstrated ability to complete tasks on time, juggle multiple deadlines and provide great customer service 

Demonstrated ability being autonomous and following on commitments 

Prior exposure to HR functions and concepts (through education or work experience) 

Demonstrated ability to work with and maintain confidential information 

Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required 

Intellectual curiosity that stimulates interest in Cascades’ value chain.

Ability to communicate effectively

Sound judgment to make appropriate decisions.

Agility needed to work with various technological tools.
