Summary


The HR Generalist is a hands-on role that supports and drives a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, compliance, training, and performance management. This position requires an HR professional who can work independently, apply sound judgment, and demonstrate close attention to detail. The HR Generalist will support a multistate workforce, requiring strong knowledge of employment laws and the ability to adapt HR practices to different jurisdictions.


Essential Functions

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts: drafting job descriptions, posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations across multiple states.
  • Serve as a resource for employee relations, providing guidance to employees and managers on policies, performance, and workplace issues.
  • Assist in administering compensation programs, including salary analysis, benchmarking, and pay equity reviews.
  • Support performance management processes, including reviews, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Draft, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures to align with company and compliance requirements.
  • Help develop and coordinate training programs, including new hire orientation, compliance training, and ongoing employee development.
  • Track and maintain training records to ensure regulatory compliance and workforce readiness.
  • Prepare HR metrics and reporting to provide insights on workforce trends.
  • Partner with leadership to support employee engagement, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.

Competencies, Experience, and Education


Required

  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience.
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices (FMLA, FLSA, EEOC, ADA, etc.).
  • Experience with compensation planning, salary analysis, and market benchmarking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to advise employees and managers.
  • High level of attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or SHRM certification
  • Demonstrated ability to manage compliance and HR practices across multiple states.
  • Prior experience in defense contracting, aerospace, or other government-regulated industries preferred.
  • Experience in fast-paced or startup environment.
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, or other federal compliance requirements.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position.

  • Use of mouse/computer keyboard

Travel

Travel will be rarely expected.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Working a 9/80 schedule
