Responsibilities
- Be the primary point of contact for any HR help, inquiries, or partnership opportunities with the CDC staff.
- Effectively and independently resolve any employee relations situations/investigations that may arise.
- Administer and own pre-hire requirements, processing, and submission of new hire requests.
- Background Authorizations, Drug Screens, & Pre-Hire Paperwork

- Administer on-site and in-person new hire orientations when needed.
- Ability to implement programs/activities to increase retention, help build a positive work environment, and increase employee engagement.
- Partner with CDC Management staff and L&D Department to build and conduct training opportunities. Be able to promptly identify areas of improvement/training opportunities.
- Work with the TA team to assist hiring managers and all candidates at the CDC throughout the application process, providing trouble shooting guidance and answering miscellaneous questions that may arise.
- Interact with vendor site and ATS to conduct pre-employment drug screens and background checks for all new hires. Follow up to ensure timely results are received, ability to audit yourself when necessary.
- Work with CDC Managers to ensure proper processes are followed regarding corrective counseling/performance improvement process, terminations, and new hires.
- Work with Sr HRBP to plan and facilitate annual compliance training completion and communication for the CDC.
- Ensure hired candidates are promptly loaded into the HRIS based on due date for hire date with all applicable personal, positional, and compensation-related detail; troubleshoot with HR Shared Services & Sr HRBP as needed.
- Provide requested reports to CDC Leadership Team as needed (Turnover, Compensation, Reviews, etc.). Be able to provide insight into the people portion of our business by utilizing Power BI and data analytics. Provide data-driven solutions to business pain points.
- Follow-up with associates and hiring managers on any incomplete pre-hire, onboarding, and compliance requirements to ensure timely completion.
- Assist with posting of requisitions through the ATS, ensure proper approvals are received.
- Assist with corrective counseling and terminations as needed.
- Work with CDC leadership team to suggest process improvements/enhancements as identified.
- Attend CDC staff meetings, monthly safety meetings, weekly HR meetings, and others as needed.
- Other job duties/projects as assigned and as needed.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Generalist/HRBP, or related role
- Experience with HRIS systems preferred, experience with Silk Road system is a plus
- Excel and PowerPoint expertise
- Working knowledge of HR-related laws, SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus
- College degree or experience in lieu of 4 -year degree
- High level of confidentiality and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Organization and follow-up skills critical
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently while also being able to thrive in a team environment
- Travel on an as needed basis
