Location:
Hospice of Cincinnati – This position requires travel in the northern region of the greater Cincinnati area. Mileage reimbursement (.72 cents)
Work Schedule:
- Full Time (40 hours weekly)
- Day Shift (No weekends or holidays)

Job Overview:
This position is scheduled Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with start and end times varying based on patient needs. No weekend or holiday shifts are required. Candidates must have reliable transportation.
The Hospice Aide will provide direct bedside care to patients of Hospice of Cincinnati in both long-term care facilities and home settings. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
The Hospice Aide Resident position provides direct patient care to Hospice of Cincinnati patients under the direction of a nurse. Hospice Aides in this position have less than 6 months clinical experience and no clinical certificate or training. They are enrolled in the Hospice Aide training at Hospice of Cincinnati. Upon completion of the Hospice of Cincinnati training, the team member will remain in the Hospice Aide-Resident role for 6 months. At the 6-month timeframe, there will be an evaluation. If they demonstrate independence in all competencies for the Hospice Aide at the 6-month evaluation, they are moved to the Hospice Aide I or Hospice Aide II position.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED 2 years high school education in general studies (Required)
Age 17 with work permit
Reading with Math Ability appropriate to the position
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 Days Required
Job Responsibilities:
Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a nurse, including bathing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, providing companionship and emotional support, even during times of crisis; follows regulatory and organizational processes and practices to promote a safe clinical environment.
Communicates effectively with the patient’s interdisciplinary team, including patient and patient family members.
Performs equipment and supply related quality checks and reports problems/malfunctions appropriately.
Monitors supply rooms, reports missing supplies, restocks supplies as needed.
Complies with regulatory and organizational documentation requirements to ensure accurate reporting of clinical interactions and patient status; ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of technology for documentation purposes.
