Job Overview
The Assistant, Editorial Content manages the product content and styling of non-promotional marketing across all media types, with a focus on digital platforms. They create inspirational and engaging stories through product selections that highlight key categories, trends, brand priorities, and consumer interests. The Editor collaborates with Merchants, Business Strategy teams, CCP, Social, Creative, Project Management, and Site Merchandising teams to develop product messaging that aligns with the merchandising vision and resonates with the target customer. They coordinate with the Business Strategy Associate and other Editorial Content Assistants to ensure product selections align with the editorial content calendar. They must have a keen eye for product details and the ability to influence at various levels. Additional duties may be assigned.
What You Will Do
- Stay curious about emerging trends in home decor, marketing, travel, technology, and appliances through competitive analysis, including media, in-store observations, digital guides, emails, social media, mobile apps, and cultural trends.
- Proactively offer new and innovative creative marketing ideas for all channels.
- Maintain and adhere to the marketing workflow calendar to ensure all projects are planned and executed on schedule.
- Establish best practices and processes for non-promotional marketing content across all functions, identifying and addressing areas for efficiency improvement.
- Lead and influence marketing and creative teams to support the merchant vision and strategy.
- Communicate with merchants on marketing initiatives related to product direction, storytelling, sample collection, due dates, and the turn-in process for all non-promotional marketing types across print, digital, and social platforms.
- Attend turn-ins to present products to the creative, marketing, and project management teams.
- Act as an internal project manager to ensure the successful execution of assigned projects from inception through completion across all channels. This includes collaborating with marketing on briefs, managing print/digital turn-ins, overseeing digital testing/product pools, and finalizing mobile and social applications.
- Collaborate closely with the Editorial Content Director and Business Strategy teams to ensure all CFOB marketing vehicles tell a cohesive story that supports key categories, relevant trends, product priorities, brands, and current consumer interests.
- Work with visual teams to style selected in-store CFOB moments and OYS fixtures.
- Evaluate and phase out legacy approaches that no longer align with the current strategy.
- Foster an engaging and collaborative culture with team members and cross-functional partners. Proactively maintain networks and stay consistently engaged.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
