The CDI Specialist exhibits sufficient knowledge of clinical documentation requirements, Diagnosis Related Group assignment, and clinical conditions of procedures. The CDI Specialist educates members of the patient care team regarding documentation guidelines, including physicians, allied health practitioners, nursing, and case management. Required Education:
Graduation from an accredited School of NursingPreferred Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required Skills:
Basic computer and keyboarding Preferred Skills:
Meditech Electronic Medical RecordRequired Licensure /Registration /Certification:
Registered Nurse, Licensed in the stat of Texas or Compact State, BLS (if not currently BLS certified, must complete within two months of employment, and thereafter renew within one month of the recommended date of renewal)Preferred Licensure /Registration /Certification:
Certification in Case Management and/or Certification in Clinical Documentation Required Experience:
Three years acute care nursing experiencePreferred Experience:
Case Management experience
