Overview
JST is currently seeking a Help Desk Systems Administrator - Site Lead to support our team within a government environment. The Help Desk Systems Administrator Site Lead oversees the daily operations and strategic direction of the help desk team within the government environment. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality technical support services, maintaining system performance, and compliance with DoD (Department of Defense) standards and security protocols. The Help Desk Systems Admin Lead will have extensive experience in IT support, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of DoD regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to mentor and guide a team of help desk professionals.

Help Desk Systems Administrator - Site Lead Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of help desk administrators, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Coordinate team activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and balanced workloads.
- Serve as the primary custodian for all IT equipment, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and reporting.
- Manage the lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Conduct regular physical inventories of IT assets and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain an ITAM system to track and manage all IT assets.
- Ensure compliance with DoD regulations and policies regarding IT asset management.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for asset tagging, inventory control, and asset tracking.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Supervise the delivery of first and second-level support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues, escalating complex problems to higher-level technical teams, as necessary.
- Monitor and analyze help desk performance metrics, implementing improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Oversee regular system maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and backups.
- Ensure the reliability and availability of network resources by monitoring system performance.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with DoD policies.
- Ensure all help desk activities comply with DoD regulations, standards, and security protocols.
- Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive information and systems.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments, addressing any vulnerabilities.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the technical skills of end-users and help desk staff.
- Create and maintain comprehensive help desk documentation, including user manuals and support guides.
- Provide support for the onboarding/out-processing process, setting up IT resources.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance help desk operations.
- Provide basic training and support to end-users on the use of IT equipment and software.
- Create and update user guides, FAQs, and other support documentation.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the help desk team.
- Ensure all IT activities comply with DoD regulations, standards, and security protocols.
- Assist in implementing security measures to protect sensitive information and systems.
- Report any security incidents or breaches to the appropriate authorities.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be available to travel up to 4 times a year.
