Thalle is currently seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to fill multiple Heavy Equipment Operator positions at our Lake Purdy project in Birmingham, Alabama.

Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operators (Excavator, Loader, Haul truck, Bulldozer, Motor Grader, and Skid Steer)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Operate various types and sizes of power construction equipment to excavate, move dirt and grade jobsite.

·         Follow all company safety policies including taking specific action to avoid other workers, equipment, potential obstructions.

·         Operate equipment in an efficient manner and follow instructions of on-site management.

·         Follow all equipment monitoring and maintenance requirements.

·         Move and/or load material utilizing dozers and excavators.

·         Must be capable and willing to maintain/grease equipment.

·         Must be willing to complete manual labor when not operating equipment.

·         Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Minimum two (2) years construction experience.

·         Ability to receive written or oral instructions.

·         Establish and maintain effective working relationship with office and field personnel.

·         Must be committed to contributing to a culture of safety, looking out for yourself and others

Physical Requirements:

•    Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
•    Work long shifts with non-standard break times
•    Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
•    Must have good hand-eye coordination, quick reaction times.
•    Able to work in confined or enclosed spaces
•    Able to sit for long periods of time.
•    Able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety-toed boots.
•    Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area (1/2 mile or more)
•    Able to Enter the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground.
