The Head of Managed Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing the growth, strategic direction, operational excellence, and client satisfaction within the managed services division of Mainline. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in IT services, a deep understanding of managed services, and the ability to drive revenues, efficiency, and customer-centric solutions. Additional responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership:
- Leading GTM strategy for the existing managed business; consists mostly of system admin for IBM Mainframe and Power Systems. Also work with other OS, networks.
- Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Managed Services business, aligning with overall organizational goals.
- Working with Regional Sales Leaders to identify opportunities.
- Identify market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to ensure the continuous evolution and competitiveness of the service offerings.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive operational efficiency through effective resource management, process optimization, and the implementation of industry-leading practices.
- Managing myriad metrics around managed business to create profitable, growth-focused BU; Utilization, ACV, Renewal rates, Hourly charge and COGS.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs, and ensuring the delivery of tailored and effective managed services.
- Act as a strategic partner for clients, offering insights, recommendations, and solutions to enhance their IT infrastructure and operations.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance on professional development, training, and career growth opportunities for team members.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the budget for the Managed Services division, ensuring financial goals are met while maintaining service quality.
- Implement cost-effective strategies and identify revenue-generating opportunities within the managed services portfolio.
Technology Innovation:
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and evaluate their applicability to enhance the organization's managed services offerings.
- Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional leader with the following attributes: 1) a revenue minded thought leader in the managed services space, ideally with experience at a similar size company during a period of explosive growth; 2) deep understanding of the Managed Services landscape, with a proven track record and examples of growth; 3) a customer facing individual, comfortable in front of customers and communicating Mainlines value proposition; and 4) an excitement for the company's mission, comfortable and credible leading a high-growth business unit within Mainline.
Additional qualifications include:
- P&L Leadership and proven experience in a leadership role within the IT services or managed services industry.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and emerging trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiency and achieving financial targets.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
- Team-oriented leader with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Physical environmental factors of this position include those found in typical business office environment or home office environment.
- Requires use of general office equipment and personal computer equipment.
- May be required to work irregular schedules including but not limited to as applicable: Nights, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call.
