Head of Live Technology - Monopoly GO!

Scopely is looking for a Head of Live Technology to join our Monopoly GO! Game team in one of our global studio hubs, or remotely.           At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. The team is based in Europe and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players.          What You Will Do 
You will play a meaningful role in navigating this landscape, supporting the technical vision and driving operational excellence for our game. The Head of Live Technology will ensure that our game development and operation not only sustain but thrive under increased stakes, delivering an unmatched level of performance, reliability, and security.You will lead our Live Technology organization in caring about the amazing and consistently high quality experiences we deliver to our players, while building and improving our ability to continue to do so. Responsibilities will include: 

• Develop and execute a vision for scaling infrastructure and resilience capabilities to support the rapid growth of Monopoly GO!, ensuring we can meet and exceed the expectations of our expanding player base
• Champion a culture of ownership and innovation within the Live Technology team, encouraging creativity and autonomy while navigating the challenges of scaling operations in a high-stakes environment
• Oversee the Infrastructure domain to ensure robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure that supports dynamic development and flawless operation, adapting to the evolving needs of our players
• Oversee the Resiliency domain to implement comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans, improving game safety and ensuring a consistently excellent player experience
• Maintain and improve operational agility, ensuring that our infrastructure and operations can quickly adapt to new challenges and opportunities while preserving the simplicity that has been key to our success
• Act as a liaison between technology teams, game development, and external partners to ensure alignment of goals, sharing of best practices, and collaboration on initiatives that support our growth and quality objectives
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement, using new technologies and practices to improve game performance, player satisfaction, and team efficiency 

 

What We're Looking For

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience in leading a global technical organization, supporting a high scale consumer-facing product (10M+ DAU)
• Strong leadership skills, with a passion for employee growth and development
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

 For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $230,000 - $300,000, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
