What will you be doing?

As Head Housekeeper, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the housekeeping department. You'll lead and support the housekeeping team, maintain high standards across the hotel and work closely with Hotel Management to ensure our guests have a fantastic stay.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating the daily activities of the housekeeping team.
  • Ensuring guest bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and communal areas are cleaned and maintained to a consistently high standard.
  • Organising the housekeeping team and allocating daily duties effectively.
  • Carrying out regular quality checks and taking appropriate action where standards are not met.
  • Ensuring rooms are ready for guests in line with arrival and departure requirements.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to guest queries, complaints and issues relating to housekeeping.
  • Ensuring maintenance issues are identified, reported and followed up through the correct procedures.
  • Managing housekeeping stock levels and ensuring essential products and supplies are available when required.
  • Monitoring stock usage and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Supporting the recruitment, training and development of new Housekeeping Staff.
  • Mentoring and developing team members to ensure consistent standards and procedures are maintained.
  • Ensuring all housekeeping procedures are followed correctly.
  • Ensuring company Health & Safety and COSHH procedures are followed at all times.
  • Working closely with other hotel departments to ensure a smooth and efficient guest experience.
  • Communicating effectively with Hotel Management regarding housekeeping standards, staffing and any issues within the department.
  • Acting as a positive role model and creating a supportive and professional team environment.
  • Completing any reasonable duties associated with the role as requested by Hotel Management.

  • Experienced in a housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Confident leading, supervising and motivating a team.
  • Highly organised and able to manage a busy department effectively.
  • Passionate about cleanliness and maintaining consistently high standards.
  • Experienced in carrying out quality checks and addressing performance or standards issues.
  • Confident dealing with guest queries and complaints professionally.
  • Able to communicate effectively with guests, colleagues and Hotel Management.
  • Proactive, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to manage stock levels and minimise unnecessary waste.
  • Knowledgeable about Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
  • Reliable, hardworking and committed to delivering an excellent guest experience.
  • Positive and approachable, with the ability to create a supportive team environment.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for the department.
