About the role

Clean Harbors – Kent, WA is looking for a Hazardous Materials Project Manager to join their safety conscious team.  The HazMat Project Manager leads and supports the execution of lab packing and waste removal from various client locations. The HazMat Project Manager will work directly with the Field Chemists and serve as a lead for waste packing services and in training new Field Chemists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Create job folders prior to dispatching.
  • Training and mentoring of new Field Chemists.
  • Schedule CleanPack jobs within an assigned territory and organize staff and equipment for optimal efficiency and execution.
  • Some field work, including lab packing, sampling and training of Chemists.
  • Proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiently and maintain compliance.
  • Supplies and inventory management.
  • Transportation management including dispatching and ELD compliance.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science preferred.
  • 3+ years of hazardous waste experience
  • Ability to develop and deliver training materials and programs related to environmental health, safety, and hazardous materials management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory status requirements of Small and Large Quantity Generators
