The Guest Specialist performs a variety of duties for guests of hotel as well as providing friendly, efficient, accurate customer service to guests and co-workers through the process of check cashing and making daily cash transactions. Answers all incoming calls and transfers calls to appropriate department. Enters all reservations/cancellations and follows through on any changes requested by guests. Registers and assigns rooms to guests, issues rooms keys, computes bill and collects payment for stay. Answers all guest inquiries to the best of your ability. It is a fun job for a public-orientated individual and requires the ability to handle multiple tasks at any given point in a timely manner.

*Varied shifts INCLUDING GRAVEYARDS (relief position).

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide superior guest service, positively affects interactions with external and internal guests and team members; has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with co-workers.
• Issue room keys and collect payment for rooms.
• Book guests Reservations for the hotel when they call in.
• Issue room keys and collect payment for rooms.
• Responsible for shift paperwork and Front Desk bank.
• Assign guests accommodations in accordance with current procedures.
• Issue money to floor or shift personnel according to internal control procedures.
• Cash checks, payroll and personal, according to internal control policies and Gambling Commission regulations.
• Receive checks and other cash equivalents (e.g., debit card, cash & win) from persons in exchange for currency or coin.
• Responsible for the proper completion even money buys and slots jackpots and for signing and ensuring the accuracy on required forms.
• Maintain and control security of keys for cage.
• Maintain knowledge on marketing promotions.
• Document all transactions with accuracy.
• Collect payments for rooms and issue room keys as needed.
• Set up wake up calls for guests.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain State of Nevada Gaming Card.
• Prior hotel, cage or other similar customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision.
• High concentration to deal with multiple tasks at the same time.
• Data entry and 10 key experience preferred.
• Accurate, efficient mathematical computation and cash-handling.
• Solid organizational and communication skills.
• Must conduct professionally and maintain a professional appearance.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
• Record-keeping or bookkeeping skills.
• Outgoing personality, positive attitude strong communication skills, and pleasant/clean appearance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, guests, and management.
• Neat appearance with good personal hygiene.
• Accuracy and attention to detail is necessary for completion of regulatory forms.
