Role Purpose:
To provide leadership and guidance to Program Managers, standardize and improve the Program launch process in areas of program execution, cost, quality, and customer interface. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of team members who may work in different functional departments or for third-party contractors to deliver programs according to the plan.
Working actively to manage Program Launch/s: execute, finalize programs according to customer deliverables, track budgets while ensuring the desired program intent and customer experience is achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership role in development and rolling out discipline specific strategies that support the Business Plan. Drive Lean/5S(WPS)through-out the assigned Program Management discipline.
- Interface with internal Woodbridge disciplines to support specific customer deliverables.
- Provide guidance and leadership to Program Managers on matters related to APQP, Program Readiness, Program Engineering, VA/VE, Quotes (PAA Support), Gross Profit Improvement, Continual Improvement, etc.
- Leadership role in monitoring Program timing vs. deliverables to meet customer and internal Woodbridge expectations.
- Direct interface with OEM’s and Tiered customers to support customer/ product alignment. Support customer meetings and visits as required.
- Program Launch activities:
- Responsible for leading program management with OE and/or T1 customers
- Primary interface to customer Quality and Engineering
- Lead for program timing, deliverables, tooling budget for OE Level Customers and others as deemed necessary
- Manage engineering change financials, margin improvement, VA/VE, etc. from program inception to end of life
- Interface with Product Managers and Business Development Managers to support specific customer-product alignment
- Lead the APQP – Program Launch process
- Support Customer meetings and visits (i.e., to Woodbridge facilities) as required
- Monitor and mentor the APQP Process (Program Launch Calendar)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
- Minimum of six years of experience in product/process engineering, product development or technical sales.
- OEM experience is required
- Experience & working knowledge of manufacturing processes, product and capabilities.
- Ability to interpret Automotive designs, drawings, CAD, GD&T and customer specifications.
- Strong understanding of customer quality, commercial and technical requirements.
- Self-starter with excellent Leadership skills.
- Strengths in communication, organization and interpersonal skills are an asset.
- Working knowledge and experience in the APQP process, IATF process, Product Launch and overall product life cycle.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen
- Ability to travel (30%-50%)
