About the role

POSITION GOAL

To perform skilled work in grounds equipment repair, overhaul, and maintaining all types of mowing equipment to reduce time lost by lawn care workers; to repair, overhaul, and maintain various types of gasoline engines in a responsible and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program preferred.

Five (5) years of recent professional paid experience in small motor repair and ground equipment maintenance.

Ability to assume responsibility, and follow both oral and written instructions.

Must have the ability to repair and overhaul all types of gas engines such as two and four cycle engines, repair and overhaul forklifts, and have the ability to operate all garage equipment, and work from instruction manuals.

Must possess considerable knowledge of all types of oils, lubricants, standard practices, methods of the trade, proper use of tools and equipment. Able to sharpen all mower cutting blades.

Must be able to work well with others. Must provide own hand tools.

Must have a proper Florida commercial driver's license with endorsements compatible with the assigned duties of The School Board of Broward County, Florida. This position will include pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Computer skills as required for the position.
