Job Summary

Graphic Design Specialist for in-house marketing department with heavy emphasis on branding, logos, contest promotion, corporate collateral design and print/digital magazine/newsletter publishing. Submit for review tightly conceptual and finished creative designs; and follow through with revisions, print production and delivery for primarily print deliverables, presentations, web graphics and email marketing as assigned by Director, Creative Services. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Print Design:

  • Create brochures, flyers, postcards, event signage, and other collateral that support affiliate and corporate marketing needs.

Digital Design:

  • Develop web graphics, email visuals, digital ads, and presentation assets that align with AmeriLife’s digital strategies.

Event Marketing:

  • Design branded materials for national and regional events, including banners, stage graphics, wayfinding signage, and promotional items.

Social Media:

  • Produce engaging content for platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, ensuring consistent alignment with brand voice and visual standards.

Brand Stewardship:

  • Maintain consistency across all creative work by following, and helping evolve, brand guidelines and design systems.

Cross Team Partnership:

  • Work closely with marketing, communications, content creators, and internal clients to understand project objectives, ask clarifying questions, and communicate design rationale effectively. Collaborate with vendors and production partners to ensure accurate and high-quality output.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and incorporating feedback efficiently.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and emerging best practices; contribute ideas that enhance creative quality and team workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of professional design experience (in house or agency)
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; After Effects or Premiere a plus)
  • Strong communication skills: able to clearly present ideas, interpret feedback, and collaborate with both creative and non-creative stakeholders
  • Understanding of digital and print production processes
  • Strong typography, layout, and visual storytelling abilities
  • Ability to work within brand systems while bringing forward fresh, thoughtful creative concepts
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities

Preferred (not required):

  • Motion graphics or video editing experience
  • Event marketing or trade show design experience
