About the role

Our mission at Misen is simple: to create well-designed, long-lasting cookware and offer it at an honest price. Each person on our team is passionate about making quality cookware more accessible and making cooking more joyful. Because what could be more joyful than creating, sharing, and devouring a delicious meal?

In the past year we’ve rebuilt the company from back to front: brought Customer Service in-house, optimized our tech platforms across the board, revamped our supply chain and fulfillment—all with the intent to support strong growth without headaches.

We’ve also built a world-class in-house Creative Team and designed a new brand identity that translates that simple value proposition into a clear, compelling, and visually stunning experience at every touchpoint.

In this pivotal role, you will support and collaborate with the Creative Team to help implement Misen’s new brand identity across web, email marketing, ads, direct mail, social, packaging, photography, video, and more, and keep it looking fresh for years to come.

Our new Graphic Designer will contribute to every piece of design that comes through our small studio, helping to maintain and evolve our new brand identity. This role is a unique opportunity to not only build a brand for a respected company from the ground up, but to ensure that that brand has lasting power well into the future.

In this role, you will:

  • Support and collaborate with Senior Designer and Design Director to establish our new brand system in anticipation of its launch, across email, digital marketing, packaging, video, web, and more.

  • Design email marketing campaigns (both autogenerated flows and push campaigns) seeing them through from design to deployment.

  • Design organic social media content, campaigns, and assets (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest).

  • Design paid social campaigns.

  • Design merchandising assets, for both the website and the unboxing experience.

  • Design print-ready packaging, including unboxing collateral, and iterate on that system for regular new product releases.

  • Help develop special projects including brand partnerships and Kickstarter campaigns.

Experience & skills you'll need:

  • 3-5 years in a design role, preferably at an e-commerce/D2C company

  • Peerless grasp of graphic design fundamentals—typography, color, layout, and an ability to tell a story with design

  • Expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)

  • Video editing and/or motion graphics skills (any program, though we use After Effects and Premiere)

  • Expertise with email platforms and creating templates using best practices (we use Klaviyo)

The ideal candidate excels at:

  • Communication. You are constantly getting positive feedback about how you express yourself, both in person and in writing.

  • Creative ideation. You tend to come to the table with several ideas, and like to flesh out a few of them before making a final call.

  • Execution. You believe in flawless execution; you can’t always achieve it, but you always strive for it.

  • Collaboration. You thrive on the back and forth not only with other creatives, but also with colleagues from other departments.

  • Curiosity. You ask a lot of questions, because clarity allows you to do outstanding work. And you appreciate being asked questions, because you know that in a trusting and transparent work environment, questions are not hidden criticisms.

  • A strategic mindset. You enjoy articulating why you’ve made certain decisions, and bringing others along for the ride.

  • Deep brand intelligence. You can identify brands you love and can articulate why.

  • Language. You’re not a writer, but you’re exceptionally comfortable working with copy, creating information-rich designs that communicate as well as delight—and every once in a while, you can come up with a good headline or copy that gets high five emojis from the ‘word people’.

You’ll fit right in if you are:

  • Someone who takes their work seriously, but does not take themselves too seriously.

  • Someone who thrives on feedback – both giving it and receiving it - and is ready to break down the thought process that led to creative decisions.

  • Self aware. You own your own behavior and can comfortably discuss mistakes, because we all make them.

  • Most efficient working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

  • Fascinated by how the pieces of a D2C business fit together.

  • Funny! You ap
