POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the FDLE HQ Office of Inspector General (OIG), reporting to the Professional Standards Unit/Customer Support. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work in a collaborative writing environment, do research, collect data, and create curriculum specifically designed for adult learners. The position also requires excellent facilitation and customer service skills.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Demonstrating the ability to research, review, and recommend appropriate action to resolve complaints;
  • Documenting complaints, referrals, and correspondence properly in an efficient and error free fashion;
  • Keeping supervisors apprised of workload, complaints received, and actions taken;
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of case files and case related materials by maintaining a secure database and file storage;
  • Preparing reports, providing analytical assistance and support to the overall investigative function, within the OIG;
  • Conducting criminal, investigative and intelligence record checks with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies;
  • Assessing information developed and reviewing data for accuracy and completeness; and
  • Preparing investigative and analytical reports documenting the results of each complaint ensuring the information is complete, accurate and correctly prepared for case preservation and future reference.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of research and intelligence analyst techniques;
  • Knowledge of report writing techniques;
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and summarize criminal intelligence data;
  • Ability to write reports and investigative summaries;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
