Job Title: Global Treasury Middle Office Group – AVP
Job Description: Blackstone’s Global Treasury group is looking for a highly skilled AVP within its Global Treasury Middle Office Group. The core focus of the Group is to provide operational support for Corporate Treasury investment activities including all forecasting, settlement and reporting deliverables for Blackstone’s Treasury on a regular basis. In addition, the Group is responsible for collateral management, market data maintenance, compliance coordination, producing dashboard analytics, liquidity and risk reporting for the Firm’s Treasurer, CFO and liquid investment committee. Other responsibilities will include the opportunity to leverage technology to lead process development and improvement initiatives, managing projects with multiple upstream and downstream stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to staff and offshore support with a focus on efficiency, transparency, and control
- Monitor, control and ensure that all Treasury investments activity is accurately captured and processed in the Treasury Management System
- Prepare, review and summarize weekly/adhoc Treasury cash forecast for senior management and compile all forecast related management reporting
- Provide oversight of daily collateral management process
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through technology-driven solutions and lead implementation of automation/upgrade initiatives across the Treasury platform working with counterparts in Operations, Finance and Technology
- Lead deal/loan closing process for Treasury investments coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders
- Liaise with Finance team to provide regular month-end/quarter-end reporting and assist with any ad-hoc inquires
- Update regular and ad-hoc Investment Committee and Risk Reporting materials
- Liaise with the offshore team to maintain the team’s Standard Operating Procedures Manual
- Partner with global Finance and Operations stakeholders to drive and enhance Global Cash Forecasting by creating various reporting tools and dashboards to analyze the overall cash positioning and forecasting
- Enhance processes to ensure that all activity that has contributed to changes in cash over each reporting period has been adequately captured and provide variance analyses
- Assist in enhancing the group’s reporting processes, procedures and analytics with a strong focus on technology-driven solutions
- Participate in various group initiatives and projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science or a quantitative discipline with a strong academic record and 5+ years of experience in a finance, credit or operations role
- Desire to drive transformation change and automate manual processes
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in executing tasks
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires execution of recurring deliverables as well as projects and initiatives in support of a growing/evolving business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high EQ, and the ability to handle interactions confidently and competently with deal professionals, operations teams, and senior management
- Leadership skills with proven experience managing a small team
- Previous forecasting experience and working knowledge of cash flow concepts/principles are a plus
- Strong proficiency in advanced MS Excel (including VBA), MS PowerPoint and Tableau is required
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SQL with experience in data analyst and manipulation a plus
