Global Sourcing Manager

Job Description

The Global Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the sourcing strategies and procurement of Direct Materials Services at Danfoss. This includes leading activities with other sourcing colleagues across the globe, analysts, and project teams to secure contractual agreements to meet business needs, lead supplier simplification, and execution activities to optimize productivity, quality & fulfillment through strategic supplier relationships. This position will require a close partnership with Operations, Engineering, and Corporate functions to deliver upon the following.

 

This is an onsite position at our Turbocor facility in Tallahassee, FL.  

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions, Key Tasks, & Responsibilities 
o    Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to achieve desired cost objectives and provide cost alternatives.
o    Direct Sourcing of engineered electronics PCBA, casting parts, plastic parts, and machined parts
o    Proven ability to lead and manage a cross-functional team.
o    Develop cost contingency models.
o    Feedback on quality issues to vendors and ensuring permanent resolution through Root Cause Analysis and effective Corrective/Preventative Actions.
o    Provision of timely feedback on material/component problems, work closely with suppliers to ensure initial containment and effective preventative measures through root cause analysis
o    Lead the development & execution of direct materials and services strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure optimal quality, cost productivity, and fulfillment by leveraging Danfoss consolidated spend, standardization, and latest industry practices.
o    Assist Buying/Make decisions with cost analysis data 
o    Actively seek new sources for existing direct materials, where doing so will improve overall service, and delivery, and improve the overall value proposition.
o    Proactively and routinely drives spend analysis activities identifying strategic sourcing opportunities within assigned categories where applicable.
o    Lead negotiations and manage all aspects of the agreements and supplier relationships.
o    Prepare various timely reports including cost savings (comparing results vs. established goals), cost increases, quote/project analysis, and other such reports, as needed
o    Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements in support of Direct Materials and Services activities.
o    Develop and gain alignment in both short and long-term strategy discussions concerning applicable Direct materials and services, based on general market conditions.
o    Develop and implement processes and policies needed to source Direct Materials and Services
o    Champion supplier development and be responsible for supplier performance of QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery)

Background & Skills

Education and/or Experience 

o    Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or Finance,
o    Minimum of 5 years solid strategic sourcing, supply chain, or commercial experience including 2 years managing one/several commodities independently.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
o    C.P.M. or C.P.I.M. and/or PMP certification is a plus
o    Technology Savvy with a strong working knowledge of MS Office Applications, specifically Excel, Power BI

o    Demonstrated ability to create and execute Project Plans needed in the Strategic Sourcing process, across several business units and locations
o    Demonstrated strong fact-based negotiation skills
o    20% Travel is expected both domestically/internationally 
o    Strong contract development, negotiation, and management skills
o    Excellent business/financial acumen, proficient in leading and setting direction for teams, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and drive change at all levels of the organization
o    Excellent growth leadership skills demonstrating a clear global perspective and understanding of factors impacting businesses and our suppliers.
