Your role
The Global Manager – Network Capacity Planning & Strategy is manager-level position within an organization responsible lead the teams responsible for the entire process of planning, designing, implementing, and managing the deployment network infrastructure supporting DLR Product Expansions and Network Observability initiatives, and the coordination of project managers efforts and resources required to successfully complete objectives and support organization’s corporate objectives.   These initiatives Include - but are not limited to - the implementation of the space, power, hardware, pathway, and connectivity across various locations globally. The goal of this position is to ensure that capital allocated for global networking projects are managed efficiently and in a timely manner to meet growing business demands and build objectives while maintaining high availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness. 
Moreover, the role develops and directs the strategic planning of global project initiatives and creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the project management team, while develops budgets/policies/procedures to supporting the functional infrastructure. 
The position will report to top leadership, and the candidate will have a deep understanding of network architecture, traffic management, and capacity planning, coupled with strong project management and strategic planning expertise. 


What you’ll do
Network Expansion & Optimization
•    Lead a team of field engineers responsible for developing detailed build specifications and overseeing vendor installations to completion.
•    Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic idea for the North America Network Delivery Implementation (NDI) Field Engineering organization, aligning with overall department and company goals and objectives.
•    Understand business processes, and assess business needs to assist with the development and deployment of network services.
•    Manage the performance of various 3rd party vendors and suppliers through monitoring performance against established SLAs and commitments and driving issue resolution to ensure continuous contract compliance.
•    Identifies, recommends, and drives multi-year Network and Telecom technology strategies to address business needs and unlocks business capabilities.
•    Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards in network deployments. 
•    Identify and implement innovative solutions to optimize field engineering processes, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate project delivery.
•    Drive alignment and collaboration with key stakeholders across various internal and external organizations and internal teams (e.g., Sales, Product Development, Network Operations, CSCO, DCNiCON) to ensure project execution and drive strategic initiatives, optimal network performance and scalability. 
•    Identify, mentor, and develop high-potential engineers, establish clear performance metrics, and provide regular feedback to drive individual and team performance.
•    Drive scalability, continuous improvement, and consistent delivery against SLAs without compromising operational safety and the customer experience.
Strategic Planning & Project Management
•    Develop and executive long-term network strategy aligned with business objectives 
•    Manage high-impact network projects ensuring on-time delivery and budget efficiency.
•    Build, manage and develop the project team responsible for project lifecycle - from creation to close - to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation
•    Evaluate/Implement comprehensive use Jira/Smartsheet/PowerBI as project management tracking tool, for resource management and reporting
•    Responsible for the day-to-day activities of your team
•    Allocate the appropriate personnel and resources to complete goals
•    Builds and maintains related reporting and metrics for senior executives.
•    Maintain accurate global project and capacity reports and up-to-date project assets and metrics
•    Escalate business critical issues to executives
•    Partner with cross-functional teams
•    Team management of 3+ project managers


What you’ll need 
•    10+ years of experience in networking including routing, switching, security and power load balancing.
•    5+ years of experience managing teams at the Senior Manager or Director level, (minimum 5 years as Project Manager Lead)
•    Bachelor’s degree, PMP Certification (or equivalent experience)
•    Experienced in both core Network Engineering along with data center build processes and physical plant enablement.
