Job Location & Travel Requirements
This role is based out of our corporate HQ located in downtown Chicago and will be a hybrid in-person/remote role. 25-30% travel to Ferrara facilities.
Ways you will make a difference
Steward the development, enhancement, and execution of Ferrara’s Quality Compliance Objectives. Influence factories to ensure full execution, communication and compliance with quality and food safety programs and policies. Partner with local teams to identify and prevent losses related to process variability, inefficiencies, or deviation from QFS standards.
Manages all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits. Leads audit preparation activities, performs follow up activities to non-conformances found and provides responses as appropriate.
Oversee and direct the following programs: Document Control, NC/CAPA, Management of Change and Deviations
Oversee and directs the Ferrara Auditing Program. Lead Ferrara’s Audit Readiness Program.
Conduct compliance analysis and assessments of all quality and food safety programs, minimum annually, or as changes in regulations, or process, occur.
Provide input to the overall Quality and Food Safety strategy and build capability in the compliance team. Engage with leadership to provide subject matter expertise and support to build Quality and Food Safety capability.
Oversee and direct Ferrara’s Quality Training Programs. Led and develop professional learning and development strategy for the Quality Management function globally.
Responsible for the employee onboarding and capability building around internal quality systems and food safety standards (ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 & FSMA) of internal factories.
Develop a strong quality, compliance, and continuous improvement culture.
Develop, analyze, and report on site key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to quality, stewardship compliance and continuous improvement, e.g., Compliance Scorecard.
Develop network of resources across sites and functions, sharing best practices and creating value for the business

Experiences that will support your success
Bachelor's Degree in food science, microbiology, or other relevant degree and substantial experience in quality and food safety
Master’s or certification preferred.
ISO FSSC 22000 knowledge or similar
Minimum 7 years of related experience
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
Knowledge of manufacturing, sanitation practices, HACCP, FSMA, GMP’s and SSOP’s.
