The Job:
As a Global Component Planner, you’ll be part of the Tools & Outdoor Global Inventory Strategy team, based in Towson, MD. Reporting to the Manager Global Component Planning, you will be responsible for fulfilling production requirements for one or more categories of critical globally managed components, balancing requirements at multiple manufacturing locations and availability from key suppliers. Success in this position will be achieved by continuous planning and analysis, problem-solving related to capacity, availability of components, and seeking creative and efficient solutions to deliver the best possible demand and supply plan. A critical focus on global components impacts global customer fill rates, working capital management, and cost-efficient logistics solutions. The position will operate in a fast-paced, demand-driven environment. Specifically, you will:
Coordinate planning efforts and analysis for critical components, focusing on existing items, new product launches and value improvement transitions among network of global manufacturing plants.
Analyze supply chain constraints and assist in developing localization strategies to drive working capacity improvements
Provide regular visibility on supply risks and inventory projections for the component categories you manage
Provide insight on component growth expectations to ensure supplier network has capacity to support growth or has visibility to decline in production.
Up to 10% domestic travel
The Person:

Bachelor’s degree – Supply Chain Management or related field
Minimum of three (3) years of supply chain experience
Strategic thinker who understands the detail, but sees the big picture
Strong data analysis skills (Excel, BW, other reporting systems)
Computer systems proficiency (JDA, SAP, MS Office products)
Strong communication skills: ability to build productive relationships at all levels of the organization
