SCOPE OF ROLE
This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Category Management and is responsible for the strategic management of our global machined component product category. This position will provide global category leadership, aligning with segment and regional category teams and working closely with segment and divisional product leaders, operations and other key stakeholders to deploy strategies that drive value and sustainability in our supply chain. This is a hybrid role based out of either Rosemont, IL or Milwaukee, WI.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, organizes, directs, controls and communicates all strategic sourcing activities related to assigned commodities and services to cross functional supply, engineering, technical support and operations group
- Conducts brainstorming sessions at facilities with cross functional teams to identify strategic opportunities and deployment priorities on cost saving initiatives
- Provides oversight to sourcing/project managers on the deployment of projects with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborates with global and regional supply teams to identify, screen and qualify strategic suppliers
- Works with global facilities to create regional and global material cost savings funnels that align with corporate strategies and financial targets
- Drives spend analysis, including counter measures for projects that fall short of plan and makes decisions to remedy the issues to get the teams back on track to meet or exceed plan
- Develops and delivers category strategies that will deliver on strategic sourcing initiatives including year over year cost savings
- Proactively assesses internal and external process improvements and influences effective change to drive innovation and continuous improvements
- Collaborates with Regal Rexnord segments on the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and owns the screening and supplier selection process
- Negotiates and manages supplier contracts including payment terms, deliveries, price, freight terms, currency exchange, raw material fluctuation, and inventory levels
- Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine product present and future needs and availability
- Provides timely reporting to agreed upon KPI’s and presents Strategic Sourcing plans to stakeholders
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS degree is required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment in a strategic Procurement/Supply Chain position
- Demonstrated experience developing global sourcing strategies
- Proven knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, metal forming processes and gear cutting
- Deep understanding of manufacturing process in relation to machined components
- Understanding of raw material inputs into machined and stamped components
- Demonstrated experience working in a matrix driven organization and in managing categories at a global level
- Experience managing and negotiating external machining processes
- Demonstrated success of supplier development strategies and related performance improvements
- Experience sourcing in low-cost regions
- Experience working with multiple regions globally
- Demonstrated success in a change management and “stretch” environment
- Strong knowledge of cost modeling linked to machined component casting/fabrication processes
- Demonstrated consistent performance in delivering strategic sourcing KPI’s including annual cost reductions and developing and deployment of sourcing strategies
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
Compensation Details:
$108K - $168K
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons.
