Global Accounts Payable Manager

• Working across all areas of the organization, the Accounts Payable team ensures that employees have the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to accurately and promptly process invoices. This role requires close collaboration with various departments to support and guide them, ensuring adherence to the Global Accounts Payable policy.

Your new role:

• To lead the development of strategic plans and initiatives related to accounts payable, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and cost-saving opportunities
• To lead the end-to-end process of invoice receipt, verification, and payment, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and promptly in line with company policies.
• Be responsible for the global payment runs to ensure payments are made within agreed terms. Working with the Internal Audit function, implement and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and errors, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance with policies and controls.
• Cultivate professional growth by providing coaching, training and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning 
• To lead initiatives that harmonise the global accounts payable function, driving process improvements that champion a "Global first" mindset, optimising expertise across all Sage locations
• Guide the development and build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, addressing vendor inquiries and disputes in a timely and professional manner.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, including payment, and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Facilitate stakeholder management and ensure compliance with the Global Purchasing Policy by establishing comprehensive reports and promoting close coordination between the global team and the business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different regions and time zones to optimize consistent practices and identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounts payable processes.
• Implement best practices to improve efficiency and reduce manual work. Respond appropriately to changing needs of our internal and external customers by adapting to new products, legislation and best practices and leading your teams to do so
• Build financial reports and be responsible for the accounts payable metrics, including aging reports and cash flow projections. Analyse data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
• Be responsible for managing a high performing accounts payable team, including setting individual objectives, performance management and development plans. 
• Be responsible for any issues such as payment disputes, discrepancies, and delays, escalating significant issues to senior management when necessary.
