Glasswash Technician

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Cambridge, MA

Shift: Monday–Friday (7am - 3:30pm)

Hourly Rate: $22.50 -$23.00

What we’re looking for 

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred but not required

• Experience: Minimum 1+ years glass wash experience preferred and/or applicable work experience

• Previous experience working in a GMP facility a plus

• Knowledge of scientific products and services a plus

• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred 

• Strong communication skills

• Excellent customer service skills; display a professional can-do attitude

• Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality

• Must be flexible, motivated, and have the ability to act independently

• Must be able to safely lift up to 50lbs

• Must exhibit core values and behaviors (Integrity, respect, collaboration, accountability, etc)

• Must be able to work in an independent manner

• Must have the ability to understand, read, and write technical information

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Operate equipment related to processing of glassware

• Collect dirty glassware from laboratories throughout customer site

• Distribute clean and sterile glassware to laboratories throughout customer site

• Maintain inventory of glassware and glass-washing supplies; orders and replaces items as needed.

• Collect and sterilize lab coats, scrubs, and related items

• Use specialized equipment such as autoclave

• Handle biohazard waste for decontamination

• Prepare solutions used in glassware processing

• Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures

• Participate in Safety Activities
