What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The target salary range for this position is $105,000- $115,00/year. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

  • A guaranteed life-long monthly pension, once vested after 5 years of service

Location

This position has the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule with the in office location at Webb Municipal Building, 201 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80202. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

The GIS Data Administrator & Asset Management Lead plays a critical role in advancing DOTI’s strategic objectives by leveraging spatial data and technology to support informed decision-making and by leading the implementation of asset management best practices. This position serves as a department-wide influencer, managing GIS professionals, guiding geospatial functions, and driving asset management strategies that optimize infrastructure lifecycle performance.

This position is pivotal in ensuring DOTI’s infrastructure assets are managed strategically and sustainably. By combining GIS expertise with asset management leadership, the role enhances operational efficiency, optimizes resource allocation, and supports long-term planning for DOTI.

Specifically, in this role you will:

GIS Data Administrator

  • Develop and direct the technical operations related to the implementation and maintenance of GIS data layers used in data modeling and data distribution activities, which includes coordinating the maintenance of GIS data life cycles and related business processes.

  • Serve as a DOTI GIS technical expert by developing and implementing industry accepted standards and procedures for use of GIS applications and services and promoting the adoption of these standards and procedures throughout DOTI.

  • Collaborate with internal divisions and external consultants to integrate spatial data into business processes and ensure adherence to DOTI and city standards.

  • Consult with GIS users to evaluate needs, provide technical guidance on GIS applications and services, and develop solutions to meet user needs for GIS data and analysis.

  • Manage data maintenance efforts across multiple divisions within DOTI and with other city departments to ensure data integrity and transparency.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to GIS staff, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

Asset Management Leadership

  • Serve as the department’s leader for asset management
